Sushi Izumi - Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu

It's hard to find a better deal than all-you-can-eat sushi, and the quality of the sushi here was outstanding!

I had a fantastic evening with my friends and family! Andy was a wonderful server and extremely kind. Everyone enjoyed the food, and we can't wait to return!

During the tipping process, the staff questioned why we weren't leaving a 20% gratuity and instead opted for a tip of $8 or $10. It felt as though they depended heavily on tips to meet their financial needs, which I found inappropriate. I am left wondering what kind of management permits such behavior. I won’t be returning to this restaurant.

In the summer, the air conditioning is often out of order. The servers also seem to be unhappy most of the time. Even after adding a 15% tip when paying with a debit or credit card, they still ask for more right in front of you. When you explain why you can only give that amount, they respond with a dismissive attitude. I won't be coming back.

I will never go back to this restaurant. The service was awful. The staff had sad, unfriendly expressions, and every time I asked a question, I was met with eye rolls. The food was okay, but when it was time to pay, they pressured us for a tip as if it was deserved. Is that really justified when the staff has such an attitude? I understand everyone is working for minimum wage, but that doesn’t excuse poor service. My fellow university students used to come here often, and I want to warn them: avoid a restaurant that makes you feel obligated to tip on top of already high menu prices. It’s just not worth it.
