Dinnertime. Van Dragon is definitely a restaurant for the locals. No fancy decor. No fancy plating. Just decent Cantonese dishes and good prices. Highlights were their XO sauce halibut and Eggplant with beef. The soya chicken comes with their dinner specials is also delicious.

Came here for dinner. Ordered the 3和菜 for about $55. Tried the Bittermelon with Pork Neck and that was pretty good the bittermelon was soft and not too bitter, and the pork wasn't fat. Their Scrambled Eggs with Prawn was surprisingly delicious! It was leaning towards the salty side, but it was still delicious (but anymore salt and it would've been a little salty). The Halibut and Tofu Pot was just average.

Tea is free, service is excellent, servers are friendly and attentive. Dishes are overall good. Dessert, you have a choice of redbean soup (typical or mango pudding (super refreshing!

Been craving dimsum for a few weeks now. Checked on zomato for a near by dimsum restaurant and came across Van Dragon. Ratings and reviews made us hesitant to even want to try this place, but glad we drop by anyways. Dimsum came out fresh and hot, except the beef rolls. The sizes of the siu mai and ha gao were pretty big. Service wasn't too bad. At one point my boyfriend wanted more tea so he decided to bring the pot up himself to pour some hot water in, but the waitress saw him and grabbed it from him and apologized for the lack of acknowledgement. When the bill came, my boyfriend noticed the tea was free of charge! What a bonus!

This place doesn't deserve a 4.0 rating, but also doesn't deserve a 3.0 rating. Going with my rating system I'll give it a 4. If you get the bill before 11:00 AM, they offer 20% off the total bill. After 11:00 AM it is 10% off. The Dim Sum was hot, very hot. The garlic spring rolls possess actual fresh garlic, none of this preserved garlic stuff. The only thing that wasn't warm was the beef rolls. They also offer free tea. I've been reading about restaurants reusing tea leaves, I checked the pot because of the free tea. They used fresh tea leaves and the iron buddha tasted pretty good too. Van Dragon, the name sounds like a Chinese Triad restaurant, all the blinds are down and windows are all frosted on the bottom half. This doesn't help the restaurant in any way but give it a more shady appeal.
