Contribuiți la feedbackI was there a long time ago when i travelled to Vancouver and I remember it was really good. I’ve always wanted to go back to try other items on their menu. highly recommend you should make a reservation because it’s a very small restaurant and the tables are really close together. sashimi was so fresh. I had a piece of lobster sushi and the uni toro don and I loved it. Their drinks were also amazing. Service was amazing. as we were leaving, they gave us 2 cups of hot yuzu drinks in a to go cup for a cold evening. Never did we get service like that , i will definitely tip more when i go back!
Terrible take out experience. I use their website for order pickup. Submitted and paid at noon and scheduled to picked up around 6:00 pm. I understand fish stocks could vary everyday, so I called to confirm if everything on the order is available. The staff who picked up the phone confirmed everything is fine, and the order will be ready by 5:30pm. However when we got there at 5:30, food was not ready, and half items on my order are not available! Totally ridiculous, if there is anything missing they should have called me and give heads-up. Never use their website, it’s purely waste of time.
The appeal of this place seems to lie in the generous portions – the rolls and nigiri are substantial. While I personally prefer smaller sushi and sashimi, I can appreciate the value that the larger portions bring for others.
Missing a couple of ingredients…It has been a moment since I first came here so decided on a revisit instead of Octopus Garden up the street. This place is located on the Cornwall street strip near Kits beach. Inside is a little compact size place therefore reservation is suggested especially during peak hours.Upon arrival, managed to find parking out front on the street and had a table after a 15min wait. The host and staffs behind the bar were welcoming and friendly. After seated, here were the food I ordered;1. 2 complimentary refreshing drinks. I believed every diner was given one. Very nice, appreciated!2. Hot sake. A little generic hot sake for me to warm up the appetite.3. Uni shooters. I don’t know what attempted creation it was but it was awful, it tasted like i was taking a soy sauce shot.4. Moltan’s ultimate sashimi. When it arrived, I honestly thought the server gave me the wrong order. The selection was okay but there’s literally ZERO culinary effort and thoughts putted into this sashimi platter. The table beside me with a $30 sashimi order looked more desirable than mine, ultimate disappointment.5. Chu toro, O toro, kanpachi, real crabmeat, hotate, uni, foie gras nigiris. Everything was fresh, tasty, and the rice was nicely seasoned and good firmness.6. The Moltan roll. Was informed out of caviar and if I am okay with a substitute ingredient. Told him okay as long as good, plus caviar is nothing new to me. Unfortunately the roll came out a mess in terms of everything. 1) it’s your signature roll?!? 2) the roll is $100! 3) missing the caviar already 4) replacing caviar with a tiny chunk of foie gras is a bit insulting? Lol Therefore at least put some effort and make it counts? (Facepalm)7. Lobster rose pasta. It’s decently okay, good amount of sauce and the lobster was tender and wasn’t over cooked.Overall, this is small little place, cozy in a way but definitely don’t want the 2 tables at the end closes to the washrooms. The services here were okay and friendly from the staffs.Unfortunately this time around, the food fell quite short especially when I ordered its supposedly best and most expensive items on the menu. It wasn’t worth $500 for 2 ppl, have better and more consistent places for that amount of money.
However, things took a turn for the worse when I decided to order an Alaska roll to finish my meal. As soon as I took the first bite, I realized it was nothing like the usual rolls I expected. I struggled to get through that piece because it tasted off—almost like rotten food. I’m not sure if it was the intended flavor of the sauce or if the ingredients had actually spoiled, but it completely ruined my appetite. I felt very nauseous and ended up telling the server about the problem. They graciously canceled my order for the roll and offered me complimentary yuzu tea, which was nice. However, I can’t just overlook the bad experience with the roll. If I were to rate only the Super Kaizendon, I would give it 5 out of 5 stars. Unfortunately, because of the disappointing roll, I have to give my overall experience 3 out of 5 stars.
