The new space by Vancouver House is gorgeous, really high ceilings so everything feels airy and light, entirely different atmosphere than their old location... and the prices definitely reflect that! Service was a little slow, but the food was still mostly great, especially the escargot and the foie gras parfait!UPDATE: Went back in Dec 2023 and while the food is still great, service was unfortunately worse. Guess we didn't order enough, but we were repeatedly asked if we were going to order more by a few different servers. The final straw was when someone asked us one more time after we'd already paid the bill... if there was a minimum order then it would have been better to just let us know directly.

I’ve been a loyal customer for 10 years and have always appreciated the quality of service here. However, during my recent visit, I encountered an issue that I feel needs addressing. When I requested an extra bowl, a staff member responded in a manner I found to be unexpectedly rude, questioning the necessity of my request and offering unsolicited advice on how to consume the meal. While I understand the importance of following restaurant protocols, a more understanding and customer-friendly approach would have been appreciated. I hope this feedback helps improve the service for future visits.

French influenced Vietnamese cuisine. This restaurant building and location under the Granville Bridge is quite a significant upgrade from the original on Broadway. There’s no bean sprouts, hoisin or Sriracha here. You get their homemade in-house sauce that brings out the flavours in the pho and compliments the soup really well. It’s quite pricey for a bowl of pho but a definite and delicious treat.

An interesting concept for the food combination, but I wouldn't come back here again. It was interesting to try once, but I did not find the food to be amazing and it felt like the chief's are trying very hard to be fancy but missed the mark with trying to get the food just right. This would probably be a good spot for an event though if you are going to reserve some large meal and a specific kind of food. I did not like that they were trying to cram as many people as they can into the dining area because we had to sit at a table super close to another family when there were tons of seats open.

Expensive for mediocre pho sums it up!I got the mini pho for $11 for lunch. The regular sized pho is $18.90.It ONLY comes with a few thin slices of braised beef brisket (and some green onions/cilantro if you want to count that). If you want additional meat, it's an add-on (eg. $5 for extra beef brisket, $8 for AAA rare beef), but you'll be paying $25+ for a simple bowl of pho.Soup is fine, but nothing special or unique. I think any neighbourhood pho place around the corner would taste about the same. The ambiance is very nice though, spacious and high ceilings. Come for the vibes, not for the food!Tuna tartare was pretty good. $24, and comes with their house-made chips.Pros: Jar of chilies vinegar was niceOverall, I was pretty disappointed as I heard good things about this place and was on my list for a while. Visited, checked it off, unfortunately won't be back again.
