Roof - Saint Helens

The Roof is a well-liked restaurant located a few miles from my home, situated on top of a building in Old Town St. Helens. The restaurant offers a stunning view, which alone makes the dining experience worthwhile. The menu at The Roof primarily consists of hot and cold sandwiches and salads. I tried the Reuben sandwich and found it delicious. I have returned to The Roof multiple times since then and have always enjoyed a fantastic meal. I highly recommend it.

I ordered the Reuben sandwich, which was supposed to have grilled black Russian rye bread, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, pastrami, and Thousand Island dressing. What I received was a sandwich on a too-large roll that was not grilled or hot, with a measly amount of sauerkraut, very little pastrami, and no cheese. Other sandwiches also had very little meat. The cook explained that they only had rolls available. It was frustrating to select from the menu only to be served something completely different. The staff didn't seem to care that the sandwich was not made correctly. On the bright side, the restaurant had a nice view, the staff worked hard, and there was a good selection of beer.
