Sitting at the granite counter, you can watch the chef working in the small open kitchen while the waitstaff move swiftly to attend to customers. I must admit, I was a bit puzzled by the decor. With a mounted ram's head on the wall and cylindrical lamps, I wondered what "Cook" was aiming to convey. However, as the place filled up, I truly began to appreciate the magic of the setting. It really serves as a gathering place for the community. I spent nearly half an hour chatting with a local after enjoying my charcuterie board. I highly recommend visiting close to closing time to soak in the atmosphere. The menu is quite simple—this is understandable given the constraints of a small kitchen. Each dish features just three ingredients, but the food is tasty and satisfying. I tried their special of the night and was very pleased with my choice. The prices lean towards the higher side for my taste, but I believe "Cook" is a staple that will continue to thrive in Saint Helena.

This restaurant is a fantastic spot for lunch or dinner, always bustling even during the weekdays. The mussels are incredible, served in a homemade sauce with sausage. We also tried the burrata, which was equally delicious. They offer a great variety of local wines, and the service is very prompt. We will definitely be returning!

Our absolute favorite meal during our vacation in Napa! And we ate at some great restaurants including Brix, Mustards, and Solbar. The restaurant itself is small and cozy which we loved! We were sat in the window so we could watch the downtown St Helena action. We both ordered the cavatelli which was out of this world! The entire meal we cherished each bite and kept talking about how the pasta tasted just like our trip to Italy. Just like it! Cook was the highlight of our trip and we already can’t wait to go back.
