We have been going to this local restaurant for many years and it was good to go back again after 3 years break due to COVID. Friendly welcome and they still do a great salad, tartiflette, omelette. The chocolate lava cake and ice cream was great to round off the meal. Lovely watching the summer sun set over mont Joly and Mont Blanc.
We arrived with 3 kids at lunch time. Three tables were occupied and ine person serving. We were ignored for about 15 minutes. A lady arrived after us and she was immediately served water and another drink. A gentleman that was finishing his lunch asked for a coffee and he was served immediately. I dared go and help myself to the menus to at least decide what we can eat, only to be shouted at and literally not allowed to take them. Five minutes later we finally got the menus with a kind: “If you’re in a hurry go somewhere else, go”. I was speechless and would have left immediately if it wasn’t for the tired kids. All went well afterwards, the food was good, but unfortunately the nasty attitude in the beginning spoiled my lunch and I will not return. Probably the restaurant could not care less about tourists not returning otherwise the personnel wouldn’t behave like this.
Would drop in for coffee whilst skiing. didn't have any food but saw the food been served up to other guests and would have to say they all look delicious. Great atmosphere and was very relaxed taking in the ambience and locality. Well worth a visit, friendly service and easy access
This used to be one of our favourite stops for coffee and lunch when skiing this area, and the welcome previously friendly. Sadly no more. We were turned away for coffee this morning, and told we could only sit in the deck chairs, (only three of four and full as it was a beautiful day), rather than sit at one of the tables outside. Such a shame and very short sighted....as sometimes a quick coffee can be the precursor to a long lunch visit another day.
