The site misrepresents this place - it is certainly not an Auberge, but a former holiday camp with very simple rooms and a good restaurant. The room image on the website is completely different from what you get, which is a small box, completely unconverted, a towel...only (no bath towel), tiny old bathroom and toilet on the landing. The upper sheet was left for us to finish the bed. It's more like a hostel than a hotel. We also arrived wet after a day heavy rain and there were nowhere dry shoes and clothes that seem a bit surprising when many of the guests are hikers. We wanted to turn on the radiator in the room, but he didn't work. The only good was the restaurant that was a very pleasant surprise - we had a good quality 5-course menu and the breakfast was also perfect. The service in the restaurant was also excellent.
Nice place to sleep, amazing restaurant with lots of variety and the most amazing people working here. It is very nice with a few big and the possibility to start and finish hikes here. We really enjoyed our stay and come back to the future.
We were at the Gites next to the Auberge and ate here a few times. No matter what you order, it is always delicious, especially all local chestnut dishes (Terrine, Mouilleux). The team is also very nice and welcoming. It is located in the middle of the Cevennes so very comfortable when you walk in the area. Excellent choice also whether you stay for a few nights or if you only go through!
This restaurant is part of the hotel of the same name (simple and good enough for hikers) ran by the same family whom is extremely friendly and welcoming. The food server is good simple and plenty. We had as an amuse bouche a voluté of...chestnut, devine! The staff is careful, wine was great (pic du loup, local). Desert was the best chestnut cookie i ever had.
