Salt Smoke - Saint Charles

Great BBQ spots are easy to fight over what makes it the best or why it’s pit master is above others and Salt Smoke is no different. The ribs are fantastic and rich with flavor, and the brisket has the wanted tenderness and smoke flavor that is hard to beat but it’s the whole menu that has us coming back again and again. The kids menu is great and fills them up along with sides that can help with picky children. The muffin that’s served with the plates is fluffy and light and adds more then the basic bread that is normal at other BBQ locations. Other meat options like the Jalapeño Cheese Bologna make for a different but great tasting meal when you need to try more then the BBQ staples.

I was recommended this place by a friend while I visited from the city. I rarely have BBQ spots because I am pescatarian and they almost never have seafood options. salt and smoke have not disappointed with their smoked salmon. I got the smoked salmon sandwich with mac and I'm gonna be fine. I also added a small calal salate with smoked salmon. the parts are large. it was a crazy worth for them. the service was also phenomenal. I am on the way to the airport with very little time to the place. in less than 30 minutes I sat, served, had a cocktail, ate something eating and took the rest to go. my server kayleigh was amazing. it was high time when I dictated here, but she had a great feeling of urgency and was super attentive. highly recommended.

I've been trying this place for some time, but he's always so busy and usually has a line. it was a cool autumn Saturday night when my wife and I decided to take the dive and put our names on the list. Surprisingly, five minutes later I got a text that says our table was ready. it was close to a cozy fire pit, our drinks came fast and our food was not too far behind. the personal was friendly and attentive. the food was good and the atmosphere complemented the evening really well. I had a lazy brisket and my wife had rib tips and deviled eggs. we look forward to going back.

Great cocktails, and even better BBQ. The brisket, pulled pork and bologna were all cooked perfectly. The crack Mac n cheese side is a MUST!. Highly recommend this place! (Yes, kid friendly too!

Wow, such a great local spot in old town Saint Charles! Friendly service, indoor and seasonal outdoor seating. The meats were moist and flavorful, and lots of added sauce options too. The beans weren't my favorite but the Mac and cheese was incredible!
