Mission Taco Joint - Saint Charles

I have been to this location a few time and always enjoy it. Menu items are clearly labeled either 'VE ' for vegetarian or 'V ' for vegan. Vegan options include Chips Salsa, Soft Tacos, Cali Burrito, Cilantro Rice and Chopped Salad. They use Hungry Planet Beef for the filling. Unfortunately the tacos and burrito are pretty much the same flavor wise and they are the only vegan entrée options. Much more options if you are vegetarian. They have happy hours with cheap tacos and shots. I had a birthday there and staff was very friendly and accommodating.

I am a fan of the Mission Taco locations, and this one is nice because I often can take advantage of their late hours and late night Taco Happy hour after catching a movie with friends at the theater also located in the Streets of St. Charles. They offer modern Mexican inspired food, with vegan options such as the soft taco, made with Impossible burger, vegan cheese, lettuce, and tomato; as well as an Impossible burger based burrito. These are good options, and I appreciate them, although they used to have completely different tofu based options that I miss. (Vegan taco made with mofu tofu, fried onions, arugula and the New Years Resolution burrito with quinoa, beans, tofu). While it is disappointing that they changed their menu, the Impossible tacos are still decent and it's still a great place to hang out and have food/drinks with friends. I frequent this location, as well as others frequently.

I tried the Cali Burrito at this restaurant and was impressed with its delicious vegan meat alternative and vegan cheese. I highly recommend it. The salsas they offer are also amazing. Additionally, they serve strong and flavorful margaritas.

I like that they offer a single vegan taco option, but I wish there were more vegan options on the menu. My husband loves the cali-burrito. The chips and salsa are consistently delicious. The guacamole can be made vegan by requesting it without cheese.
