As I was driving through the city with breakfast on my mind, I was suddenly greeted by the sound of cows mooing. To my surprise, I found myself surrounded by three cows looking at me with curiosity. The familiar scent of cinnamon filled the air, reminiscent of a county fair. I came to a stop and was warmly greeted by a lovely waitress who seated me at my table. The smell of breakfast was tantalizing, and as I perused the drink selection, I was promptly served a delicious cup of coffee with cream and jelly. Before I knew it, my order had arrived, and the food looked and tasted fantastic, with all the flavors of a hearty country morning. This restaurant truly captures the essence of a charming breakfast experience, evoking memories of cinnamon-infused country fairs.
This restaurant is always good with friendly service. However, the prices have gone up significantly and the portions are smaller. I understand but I can't justify paying $25 for a meal that includes the melt, pommes, drink, and tip, or $20 for a cup of soup and half a sandwich. Today I ordered a small waffle, 2 eggs, and 2 slices of bacon (without a drink) for $15. I'm not sure if $18 would be a fairer price for this meal. Despite the price increase, I still love this restaurant.
I may be a bit old-fashioned because I love this restaurant that is just that - old-fashioned! It could probably use some updating in case millennials stop by, but the food was great, not perfect, but great. The server was very nice as well. We dined here for dinner three years ago and had a fantastic jambalaya dish that tasted like it was made by a pro! This time for breakfast, I had a delicious omelette. As someone who prefers fresh food over canned, I appreciate that some restaurants use fresh veggies instead of frozen or canned. This restaurant is one of those, and I love it.
My friends and I came to this restaurant for dinner before heading to the comedy club next door, but I was not very impressed. It took a long time for someone to take our order after we were seated. I ordered the Friday fish fry and my husband got the gumbo. Unfortunately, my fish was cold and dry, and it took a while for our server to return, so I ended up just eating from the salad bar. My husband thought the gumbo was okay, not the best he's had but not terrible. The New Orleans theme and mock Bourbon Street outside the restaurant were cool. Maybe we just came at a bad time, but I don't think I will be dining here again.
We bought a room at the resort with dinner here. Never open the entire time we were in town. Extremely disappointing... Absolutely no accommodations. Will never come back!!! Update... Finally open the last night in town. The food was great. The wait staff treated us extremely well. The bartender made the best hurricane ive ever had... upgraded from 1 star to 4 stars.
