We weren't disappointed, It's a quiet, unassuming spot next to a Motel and burger joint so you don't really know what to expect when you get inside. We were happy to see it's clean, neat and with a pleasant decor. The server promptly seated us and took our order a few minutes later. The menu isn't quite extensive as I've seen at some Asian restaurants but all the essentials are there. The won-ton soup was extremely satisfying with an extremely fresh and flavorful broth. The dumpling in the soup were a bit small compared to other restaurants but very fresh. We both had the General Tao chicken, which was very good with fresh steamed rice and deliciously prepared vegetables. The wines, which in both our cases were private imports not available at the local SAQ stores, were well chosen and reasonably priced.Choi is by no means some amazing place with food you can't get anywhere else but it provides a solid, pleasant dining experience in a quiet, pleasant setting.
This is a nice place for some great asian food except you must be lucky and hit the right night. Some nights are excellent and other very ordinary.Mediocre wine list.
Place: nicer inside than how it looks like from the outside - unexpectedly modern/quaint feel.Food: very delicate and good quality ingredients. We had the steamed fish with side of steamed vegetables. it was delightful, from the looks of it to the taste and perfect cuisson of it and the side vegetables. The creme brulee was a bite...a small bite..but so perfectly done that you need no more.Service: The lady at the entrance was rude and uninviting. The dynamics pointed to her being the owner... so more the reason for that attitude to be corrected/ The servers and staff were very pleasant and attentive to keeping a good flow of service and professional feel during the evening.Overall: We would go back to taste more of the menu...hoping it will be as delicate as the first experience. Go there for a tasting experience, portions are very small.
I go to this restaurant couple of times per month to enjoy their Chinese food. I like very much the Hot and Sour soup and all of the chicken plates.
Restaurant is spotless and comfortable. The food was excellent. The service was lacking.Except for opening the bottle of wine and serving the initial 2 glasses ,we spent the rest of the evening pouring our own.We waited an eternity for our main course. We left disappointed.
