Hippopotamus - Saint-Ambreuil

This was our first visit in this chain of restaurants. exactly what we needed after 5 hours on the autobahn. the manager was friendly and it is nice to order a plate cooked by simple meals. we had entrecôtes with fresh green beans ratatouille it was delicious and came with a selection of sauce. we paid a lot more in cannes and the meat was much better here. both waitresses we met were charming. would recommend.

Third attempt at a midday break, as the service stations are very crowded at midday. the attentive employees and although they were busy were warned, there was a 15min waiting for the service at the arrival. the food was a good standard, and the staff ensured that we had a pleasant meal and a refreshing break from the road. I'd like to use it again.

Be careful when ordering “viande marinée”! officially, a “viandes Marinée” is a meat that has been seasoned and soned for a time, while apparently here, as I was told by the cook, it is only pure boiled meat (to which I added). no taste! and to which they can add a strong gravitation to accompany them! I guess cook handles were checked for lower standards and so the taste and taste! but on a positive side, they try the gratin dauphinois, really good!

Nous cherchions juste une halte déjeuner sur la route de retour des vacances quand nous nous sommes arrêtés sur l'aire de service de st ambreuil. Notre choix s'est porté sur l'hippotamus. Bien nous en a pris !Sur la cuisine et le cadre, pas grand chose à dire : c'est l'hippo : Bien, rapide, classique !La différence est sur la qualité du service et de l'accueil. Le manager est aux petits soins pour ses clients et à l'œil partout malgré le monde. Les temps d'attente sont annoncés et bien estimés ... Et le sourire des serveuses est au rendez vous :-)Bravo et merci.Adresse à retenir ! N'hésitez pas à vous arrêter.

Petite soirée en couple très agréable. Service assez rapide et personnel très accueillant. Petit mix assortiment en apéritif, et magret de canard au miel (cuisson parfaite ) avec pommes sautées. Restaurant de valeur sûre
