We were welcomed warmly and shared the restaurant with another, larger party, celebrating an 80th birthday. Nonetheless, the service was excellent and in no way did we feel we were being left out. There was an appealing and varied choice on the menu and our lunch was delicious and well presented. The restaurant doesn't try to be too smart and it doesn't need to be, as much of its appeal is in its comfortable atmosphere. None of our party left disappointed quite the opposite and we would certainly return here.
Good to find a quality restaurant on our doorstep. Very accommodating, attentive staff. Not an extensive menu but well presented and prepared from fresh ingredients.
The appearance from the outside is that it is closed, even when it is not! It IS closed all day Wednesday, plus Tuesday and Sunday evenings. The street-facing glazing is dark and there are none of the usual boards outside. See photo! We agree with the previous reviewer regarding the high quality food, but found the service, whilst at first not over friendly, warmed up as the courses went by and we were rewarded with a slight smile as we chatted with the lady owner whilst settling up. The daily 3 course menu at 13.50 offered goat's cheese salad, three kinds of fish as a main course. cheese and an apple tart. Menus at 23 and 29 euro are also offered. One of us had the daily menu and the other the upmarket 23 euro menu with a couple of choices such as fish soup and duck. Both were very good quality and value, with the portions more than adequate. The restaurant decor is French country style with a very high ceiling, so the big space is not overly atmospheric, especially as yesterday, when it wasn't crowded..But go for the food and we believe you won't be disappointed!
Delicious. Homemade deserts, super friendly welcome, cheese really good. Opened nearly every evening and really non expensive lunch. And if you are vegetarian and call them a day before they will make something special for you. The owners absolutely love what they are doing.
We were staying at the Gite opposite La Bellone and decided to visit on our last evening as it was my wife 's Birthday. We booked for 7.00pm and arrived on time a 30Metre stroll away On arrival we were asked if we would like to eat inside or outside. We chose inside and were shown to a table by the sliding patio doors which were slightly open letting in a cool breeze. After sitting down the menu and wine list arrived and we ordered our pre dinner drinks. The menu is not extensive but gave a choice of 5 starters and approx.10 main courses. The wine list offers some interesting choices. A complimentary dish of fish mousse accompanied by small pieces of toast and olives soon arrived at the table. We ordered starters of 1 smoked salmon and 1fois gras. We also decided to push the boat out for the wine and ordered a Medoc 30 euro as we both had decided to have beef for the main course. The owner of the retaurant suggested that the red wine would not go with the fois gras and offered a glass of white wine which truly complimented the meal. Both steaks arrived cooked as ordered 1 blue and 1 rare and were of excellent taste and quality and were accompanied by Gratin Dauphinois , and mixed vegetables. For dessert we chose ice cream followed bt coffee and Brandy. The total bill came to 118 euro but well worth it. The reataurant is named after the river Bellone which flows through St Adjutory but is more like a large stream rather than a river. If time permits why not take a stroll by the river along the man made path which follows the river for a few hundred metres. To get to the river take the road opposite the restaurant and follow for a short way. You will arrive at the old Lavoire , park here and take the path. The path is part in the shade and part open and is flat but is not suitable for wheel chairs.
