Contribuiți la feedbackOn another visit, I enjoyed a hearty lunch starting with potato flautas followed by mole enchiladas, accompanied by a virgin blackberry margarita. It was quite a substantial meal, and they generously provided plenty of chips and salsa, leaving me with ample leftovers for dinner. The mole enchiladas were absolutely delightful; I wish I could bottle that exquisite sauce! The service was warm and welcoming throughout my visits. When I learned I would be traveling to Sacramento months ago, I knew I had to dine here, and I plan to continue doing so whenever I'm back in town. While in Sacramento for business, Zocalo was highly recommended by my boss, who is also a food enthusiast. I’m grateful for the recommendation because this place was fantastic! I ended up visiting twice during my week in the area. On my first night, I took advantage of happy hour to sample their menu while keeping my expenses low, as reimbursement is limited. I ordered a virgin mango margarita, fish tacos, and potato/spinach flautas, all of which were delicious! My only minor issue was that the salsa made the dishes a bit soggy due to my taking pictures and videos, so perhaps I should have dug in more quickly. I suspect that the happy hour fish tacos are smaller, but that worked out well because I was quite full by the time I finished the flautas, each plate coming with two. The mango margarita was refreshingly delicious, especially on a hot day! The second time I visited, I opted for takeout in preparation for an evening class after a full day of work. I ordered a trio of enchiladas with cilantro rice, featuring one enchilada in red sauce, another in green sauce, and a third with mole. Out of the three, I favored the mole, which was rich in flavor. I found it slightly sweet at first, but it transitioned to a savory note as I continued to enjoy the dish. I will definitely be ordering that again! Although I'm not a huge fan of cilantro, I was pleasantly surprised by the cilantro rice; it was flavorful and tolerable for me, though I likely won’t order it again. If you love cilantro, you’ll definitely enjoy it! The service was friendly, though I did experience a wait for a table due to their popularity. I could see a growing number of to-go orders piling up, and a colleague who visited the next day mentioned that the place was packed! It's no surprise given the quality of the food. I'd love to return, even just for the chips and salsa, which were also excellent. I’m eager to explore more of their menu and hope to have the chance again soon!
Soft white lights adorned the space, creating a warm ambiance that was neither too dim nor too bright—I could easily see my food without needing sunglasses. The white walls helped open up the area, contributing to a clean and inviting feel. The restrooms were well-kept, which is always a plus. When it came to pricing, it seemed quite reasonable compared to what you'd find at a chain steakhouse. Overall, my dining experience was refreshing for many reasons. This place will definitely become one of my new go-to spots. I can't speak to the average wait times, but having a reservation ensured that everything went smoothly.
Excellent service and they seated us immediately at our reservation time.
Great service, not long of a wait time. Food amazing.I recommend the fish tacos or the americano tacos. Mmmmmmm… delicious
Food has been better on other visits. The carnitas were not crisp on the outside, but rather simmered meat in a green sauce? More like chili verde. My wife's chili relleno was mediocre. Of course, place was so loud you couldn't talk and be heard. That's Zocalos.
