Célestin's - Sacramento

Although the food at Celestine’s is excellent, the hours of operation are quite frustrating. It seems that you've potentially lost out on around $300 in sales from us this summer alone because you weren't open when we were craving your dishes. You're only available for about 30 minutes a day! Please consider extending your hours. It’s perplexing to be closed for three consecutive days.

Celestin's is one of the most consistently excellent restaurants in the area. I've tried nearly everything on the menu, and only nine dishes have let me down. My personal favorites are the shrimp po'boy and the chicken sandwich, but you really can't go wrong with any of their gumbos. Plus, their fries are outstanding!

Frustrated by the lack of communication, I contacted my credit card company to dispute the charges. They informed me that the $98.69 charge was valid since my card was physically swiped at the restaurant. This situation exemplifies DISHONEST BUSINESS PRACTICES! I understand that mistakes can happen, and charges can be made incorrectly, but what I cannot accept is the absence of follow-up from management to address the unauthorized charge. In conclusion, if you value your money, I strongly advise against dining here.

Delicious food and the restaurant specials are always a great option. We always get a Celestins Gumbo to go which is still good the next day. They also have the best Key lime pie!

This is one of the last really great small, locally family owned restaurants in Sacramento! The food is exceptionally tasty and the service outstanding! If you want something different go and enjoy a great evening, like we did !
