What an amazing, quaint vegan market right in the middle of Hillcrest! Love the Snackrelig sandwiches that were toasted to perfection.

Besides the fact that this market is all vegan, here are some additional highlights on why I rate XMarket 5 stars: This pre packaged sandwich was much tastier than I expected. Though I would prefer sandwiches made to order, I do appreciate that this place offers to toast these upon request. Darë cheese was 30% off! It will expire at the end of the month but I'll totally eat it by then : Reine cheese was 50% off!!! It was about to expire in a couple of days but again, no problem! I took care of that easily! It was delicious! I also received a 10% discount with Yelp check in since it was my first visit. So with the sandwich, two artisan vegan cheeses, a vegan fig salami, mushroom jerky, Veggeroni (vegan pepperoni , and a sparkly water, I spent 45 for these plant based goodies. Street meter parking was easy ish. There's also a parking garage that might be validated if you spend a certain amount of at XMarket. I love all the plants near the entrance of the store. The vibe here is very modern, clean, and organized. Though I see a lot of brands that I can get at other grocery stores, I did see a good amount of brands that I haven't had yet. And because I was able to get Darë and Reine at discount prices, I kicked off my new year's resolution of treating myself to more bougie vegan cheeses with a strong start! :

XMarket offers a well laid out, pleasant shopping experience for anyone, but it's especially great for those seeking plant-based and/or vegan choices. No more being forced to read every single label for hidden dairy, meat, or eggs when shopping at XMarket! While their pricing is more expensive for some of the common brands you can typically find at regular grocery stores (Beyond Meat, Impossible Meat, Daiya, Follow Your Heart cheese, etc. , what makes XMarket special is their vast selection of smaller batch, lesser known products. Ranging from artisanal vegan cheese to locally produced mock meats, XMarket has an incredible array of vegan food items to choose from. Though I'm a vegan cheese connoisseur (and maker , even I saw many exciting artisanal cheeses from around the country that I've never even heard of before! I had met a few friends here recently for coffee and snacks. I ordered an iced mocha latte, and it was great not to have to pay a surcharge for vegan milk or play twenty questions about if anything had dairy in it. We sat indoors by the large open windows, nestled amongst the many plants. It was a lovely spot to hang out and chat while sipping our tasty drinks. The food menu also looked interesting so I'm looking forward to grabbing a bite to eat the next time I'm there. An area of improvement I feel compelled to mention is that I was very surprised to see so many sad, wilted plants throughout the store. It was especially strange considering the parent company is called PlantX and plants are their thing! Hopefully this will improve as the store finds its roots (ha , but for now, I'd recommend visiting your local nursery for plant purchases instead. XMarket has started offering free samples weekly where they showcase different food products they sell. It seems to be changing so check social media for the latest update. I'm excited to have an all vegan market so close by, and I look forward to my next visit.

Great shop, so glad they opened in San Diego! The store is cute and clean. They have a good mix of staples and harder to find vegan specialty products. Excellent product choices and selection! The employees were very nice and helpful too!

Super nice staff. Great products. Local and not so expensive. I love supporting local businesses and especially when you are treated kindly and want to go back.
