The Butcher's Cut - S San Diego

We were seated under a dripping AC conduit. Thank god the server moved us. Service was good, very amiable and attentive. Food was awful. Probably the worst $90 porterhouse I've ever had. 1/4 of it gristle and the taste was blah. Definitely not prime probably choice beef. The corn and bacon was literally a can of corn reheated with rubber bacon tossed in. C'mon you can do better than that. Wine list was a parade of over priced high volume wines you can buy at any ballpark. Not going back.

Not only was the food spectacular, but the service was stellar! Mykaela at the front was just lovely and kept checking on us throughout our meal! Jenny was one of the best servers we've had in a long time. Rodolfo, the owner, was such a gentleman. He came to introduce himself and wanted to make sure everything was perfect. I highly recommend it. Just be prepared to walk a little.

What a beautiful evening! We were celebrating a milestone birthday when we stumbled on this treasure! From the moment we were seated, Nikkie made us feel like old friends! She was so nice and even took some artistic liberties with the menu to ensure we got exactly what we wanted! When the food arrived the presentation was beautiful! The freshness of the salad veggies made us feel like they were harvested 30 min ago! But nothing could have prepared us for those first bites! Omg the steak and scallops were on point! Just wow! These folks made our night special! Will definitely be back on our next visit in town! Thank you to our new 'old friend ' Nikkie and the rest of the staff for a beautiful evening!!

Overall it was a really good experience, but for 250 I'd expect absolutely exceptional for my fiance and myself. The table adjacent to us was very loud, bordering on belligerent. The waitress was very good, but we weren't greeted nor did they wish her happy birthday (as I listed in the reservation and confirmed day of). The food was also very good, but again just a bit underwhelmed for the price paid.

This place was a scam. Terribly under seasoned food and over charged. Avoid if possible
