Smashburger - S San Diego

The food is great, honestly. It's mostly empty when I go, which is anywhere between 3PM 8PM, so there isn't much of an atmosphere to rate. The food isn't too expensive and the portions are plentiful.Parking: There's plenty of space to park to the back right of the restaurant.

Bring back the black bean burger!The best menu hack was to be able to get the black bean burger in any style as any other Burger. Now. They took it off the menu one month ago And replaced it with Annie 's Jackfruit veggie burger Which I think is supposed to mirror the taste of meat potentially, although I 've never had meat, but it made me want to gag. I literally had half of one bite and I wanted to throw up. It was the most disgusting thing I 've ever tasted. Almost a combination of mushrooms with cardboard. I Love jackfruit. I 'm super bummed because my boyfriend and I used to be able to come here and he could get his fill of a traditional American burger and I could also dine with him with my black bean burger and now I have nothing to eat on the menu. The worst part was that even though the staff is incredibly nice and helpful and the restaurant is maintained very clean (SDSU college area location), I brought an entire veggie burger back up to the counter with not even a full bite out of it and they wouldn 't exchange it or credit it towards a different Burger. All the staff told me to do is leave it in the reviews so that 's what I 'm doing. That was $10. We literally threw in the trash. And we even tipped them $6 before realizing how awful the burger was going to be. I wish we could have taken the tip back. I was shocked they didn 't replace the burger so that was 16 bucks between that and the tip for nothing. I don 't think we 're going to be coming back for a while, even though the brussel sprouts are really good.

Good food and great service by the manager ms. ana. Solo worker but one woman team!! Best manager in my honest opinion!!

Ordered 2 burgers and fries. No one else was in the restaurant and we got 1 burger after 20 minutes and the second 15 minutes later with cold fries. Place was clean but staff were seriously uninterested in doing their job.

Such a delicious burger. Shakes aren't bad either! Clean and friendly spot! ?
