Amalfi Cucina Italiana Carmel Valley

This is the second time that I 've been to Amalfi, first time was at their original location in San Marcos. When I found out they were opening one closer to me under the same ownership I was ecstatic because I was blown away at how fresh and delicious all the food was. It was my fiancé 's birthday and Giuseppe was our server and he was as perfect as perfect gets for being an awesome server. He made great recommendations as well as being very attentive to our table when we needed something. Offered complementary dessert for my Fiancé as well as lemoncello shots for the whole table. 100% will be going here weekly and asking for Giuseppe as our server. There 's not a single bad option on the menu, EVERYTHING is really good.

We've eaten here several times and the food is always wonderful. I have to say though....we've rarely had good service. Our waiter was inattentive I'll chalk it up to being busy) I had to flag him down to get a glass of wine and then it took 15 minutes for it to get delivered to the table) Once we were finished we sat for at least 20 minutes before we were offered boxes we were never offered dessert).

The pizza and tiramisu were delicious. The Caprese Chef was not that great the layer of lettuce looked like it had been sitting out for a while. My cocktail was not good, even though the liquor in it was a good one. Our server is not very good I'm not sure if he had too many tables or if he just wasn't attentive to what was going on with us because we waited for long periods of time and had to flag him down.

Almost a perfect experience. Octopus entree was very large and perfectly prepared. We had the Branzino special and eggplant parmigiana. Both perfect. The disappointment was the extremely loud band that they had playing indoors. Ridiculously loud. We had to sit outside. Otherwise very enjoyable. Will return.

Too noisy. Can't hear yourself think. No walls. Open air. Only good item was eggplant Parmesan. Sauces bland and not authentic. Salad was supposed to be split but was told the kitchen can't do that ! Delivery of food was incorrect and then just literally tossed on the table. Won't go back
