A return visit since our first, an excellent dinner last December, This time we were celebrating our 45th. wedding anniversary so had a two night stay to fully enjoy this delightful hotel on the edge of the N Yorks. Moors. Our dinner on the Saturday...could hardly be faulted and was good value for money. We had a pleasant, fairly spacious room, complete with walk-in wardrobe. As expected, breakfast on both days was hearty and tasty, we both had smoked salmon with scrambled eggs the first day and full English on the second. The bar has a lovely pubby air and there is ample outdoor seating plus a beer garden with extensive views of the surrounding moors. Definitely worth another visit.
While on a walk came across this Inn and had a drink in the sun in the back. The menu look brilliant so booked a table for later in the week. Very friendly welcome from the landlord and our choice of wine arrived very quickly....Waitress was lovely I had venison on a bed of haggis, wow, and my partner had a fish dish which she thought was wonderful. The real fruit crumble was the best I have ever had. Would highly recommend this Inn and would like to go back and stay
We ate here as we were staying at the hotel. There is plenty of choice on the menu and it is very good. All the staff are fabulous and we were looked after extremely well by Daniel and Beth, to name but two. We highly...recommend the Duck Salad as a starter.
It was great to step inside out of the mist and rain. This is such a welcoming place with a lovely cosy bar and other rooms primarily for eating. The Millie George beer was spot on and the food was excellent with ample choice. I...had the pheasant which was great value at £12-95. There was a comfortable/friendly atmosphere. Charming staff. 8 en-suite bedrooms.
