Whitby Castle - Rye

Niki, who helped us with wedding planning and answered our many questions, was a delight to work with. Her professionalism and warm demeanor made the process enjoyable. A few weeks before the wedding, we met with Ralph, the maître d’hôtel, to finalize details, and he covered everything meticulously. We left that meeting feeling completely at ease and confident in our plans. Ralph was also very accommodating with any changes we wanted to make. Our wedding day was on Sunday, August 11th. My husband arrived at the castle at 1:00 PM to prepare, and Niki and Ralph made sure his needs were met. He had ample space to get ready, and the bridal suite, which overlooked the golf course, was stunning. The staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring everything went smoothly. When I arrived, the staff treated me like royalty and escorted me to the bridal suite once the groomsmen had cleared out. Ralph ensured that I was kept hidden until my husband was downstairs and wouldn’t catch a glimpse of me. We opted for a first look to savor as much of the day as possible, and despite the bustling summer day around the pool and golf course, we felt like we had the venue all to ourselves. Rosa, my bridal attendant, was incredibly attentive, ensuring I had everything I needed. When it was time for the ceremony, she whisked me away on a golf cart to avoid being seen by guests, and I made my entrance from behind a willow tree next to the lawn. This moment has generated so much buzz among our guests – it was truly magical! The evening was just as perfect as we had hoped. We chose to upgrade to surf and turf for our entrée, and it’s safe to say we were not disappointed. Several of our guests chose the same and raved about the quality and flavor of the lobster and steak. The bartenders, Leo and Alana, were not only fun but also efficient, ensuring our guests had their drinks without long waits. The room looked beautiful, illuminated by the natural light from large windows before sunset. The photos we took later that night outside the castle were stunning – it was indeed a picture-perfect setting. Choosing Whitby Castle for our wedding was the best decision we could have made. It was a day and night we will always cherish, like a real-life fairy tale. We are immensely grateful to Niki, Ralph, and the entire staff for making our special day so flawless!

This restaurant is a beautiful venue for weddings. The cocktail hour took place on their wraparound deck with stunning views of the golf course. Dinner was served inside, in a spacious and lovely room filled with windows, while an adjoining room was designated for the bar and dance floor. My only complaint—something I often find at weddings—is that the music was excessively loud. It became very irritating after a while, prompting me to take a break in the lobby. It was impossible to have a conversation without yelling at each other. It's not a rock concert where the main focus is the music; there’s no need for it to be that loud, as it only distorts the sound.

I recently photographed Olivia and Andrew's wedding at this venue, and it was an amazing experience! The grounds are stunning for photography, and the staff is incredibly helpful. The outdoor ceremony felt like a fairytale, with a castle in the background.
