Baxter's At Rutland Country Club

I had been to this restaurant before and was never particularly impressed, but my sister wanted to give it another try. If I could rate it lower than zero stars, I definitely would! I ordered a burger cooked rare and ended up waiting over 40 minutes with no word from our server. When I finally managed to get her attention, I asked why our food hadn't arrived yet while other diners were already settling their bills. She responded that it was really busy and the kitchen was backed up. Eventually, our food arrived, but my sister's grilled cheese was just okay, and my burger was overcooked to well done! I flagged down the server to point it out but didn't want a replacement; I just wanted the charge removed from my bill. I left and can confidently say I won’t be returning!

This is a lively spot for watching softball games! There are always kids playing on the basketball court, and tennis players are there every day. I'm really glad to see the park being enjoyed so much.

We had a delightful Mother's Day brunch on Sunday. The service was efficient yet relaxed, allowing us to savor our meal without feeling rushed. We loved the excellent selection of dishes, especially the Prime Rib with Bernaise sauce—it was incredibly tender. The Eggs Benedict were also a standout, and the mimosas added the perfect touch to our celebration.

When our friend suggested we have lunch at this place, my boyfriend and I didn’t know what to expect. A country club might imply something upscale, but Rutland felt quite different. However, upon entering, we realized it was the perfect mix of both. To sum it up, we really enjoyed this spot. They offer a wide variety of options, primarily focusing on classic bar food, but executed exceptionally well. In fact, these were probably the best wings I’ve had in ages. We enjoyed our lunch so much that we returned a few days later for their burgers, which were also fantastic. My favorite dish, though, was definitely the nachos. They had everything you want in a plate of nachos: a generous portion of melted cheese, meat, and all the standard toppings. You truly can't go wrong with anything you order here.

The restaurant has a delightful ambiance, and the food is exceptional, from the beautiful presentation to the delicious flavors. The portion sizes are just right as well.
