Matera's Italian Market - Rutherford

I called to express my concerns, and Chris kindly sent me two additional chicken dinners, but they were equally terrible. I spent $60, and it felt like a complete waste of money. They really need to find a new chef or cook. I tried to talk to Michael, but he was never available. I won’t be ordering these meals again, which is unfortunate because the sandwiches are pretty good. Also, last year I bought a fresh mozzarella, and it was sour. Sorry for the negative review, but I felt it was necessary.

I've enjoyed some of the best sandwiches, cheeses, and deli products here. I highly recommend this place whether you're a local or just strolling down Park Ave in search of a tasty lunch option.

The salads used to be incredible, but today I bought two and found the containers only half full. The dressing has also changed and isn't as good as before. I paid full price for what feels like two half salads.

I can't say enough about the service I received at Matera's. My business hosts a meeting in The Loft, which is their upstairs event space, two times per month, so I have the owner's personal contact information. My friend ordered food from the store butbefore he got a chance to pick up the order he had to deal with a family emergency and the store closed. I called the owner andsomeone met me at the store to make sure the food was cooked fresh to fulfill my friend's order. Not too many businesses offersuch exceptional service any more! Thank you Matera's and your amazing staff!

The best sandwiches in NJ! Real Italian bread quality fresh cold cuts ingredients. Fabulous deli case prepared foods. A wonderful selection of fine imported meats Italian goods. Trendy, spotless, a true Italian deli. The real deal. Excellentservice as well. Fair prices. Try the Italian Hero one of the amazing stuffed breads.
