Etienne Brule Brewery - Russell

The menu is rather limited since they don't have a proper kitchen but the selection of salads and sandwiches is very good. I selected the smoked meat sandwich with the Cesar salad. Both were very good. However, the beer is really the reason to visit the place. I choose the Taster Flight of 4 of their beers brewed on the premises. I had a pilsner, an IPA, a red and a stout. I enjoyed them very much, particularly the pilsner and the stout. The service was very good, the waiter taking the time to explain each of the beers. The terrace was particularly enjoyable on a sunny afternoon.

Beer was great, the food was also excellent although small portions. They do not have large menu since they are a brewery, no real kitchen to make chicken wings or anything deep fried. They serve only salads, soup and panini. The two panini we ordered were delicious except rather small for the price. It's too bad the kitchen is so small because the panini would have been well accompanied by fries, but now we know what to expect. Good for a drink and small bite to eat, not for a full meal/dinner. We had great service and it was quick.

This is the second time I visit this place. It is much better. They have improved the menu with a much better selection of food. Everything tasted great! It offers a nice large patio.

We just finished celebrating a family birthday at the brewery and can say we will never be back. We arrived at 7:30 for our reservation time and weren't served drinks until 8:30 and weren't served dinner until 9:30. Many tables around us were seated, served and departed in the 2 hours we waited. The menu is minimal with salads, paninis and nachos / cheese boards as options so the unbelievably long wait is completely unacceptable. They also had beers on the menu that are only available for take home; this should be specified and not provided as a menu option as it is misleading. In addition, the 10 of us had to send multiple beers back as they were very warm; we also saw many other tables sending the beer back as well so it seems they had a difficult time having cold beer to serve. Very disappointed.

If you are looking for an extensive meal or drinks menu DO NOT go here. If you are looking for fresh ingredients and great service in a friendly relaxed atmosphere then this is definitely the best place in town. I am not a beer drinker but my hubby has enjoyed trying their beer offerings and has enjoyed most but not all. They now have wine for those of us not into beer. Their menu is simple but the food is amazing. Check out their online menu before you go. Love this place. Have been often and will continue to go for a relaxing enjoyable yummy meal
