ACME - Rushcutters Bay

Let me begin to say that eat well here. very good. and with taking out drinks that take one because to us, we had a total experience that was worth coming back. but what turned us off to come back and make our experience angry when the bill came. added to the bill were two things we did not expect. one was a contribution to ozharvest, and a 7% selfishness! we were not a big table, only 3 of us. Beyond that our server did not mention it. it doesn't matter to be asked if we want to donate a love. but they ask us not to slip into our bill without telling us. the same for a happiness. we like to decide if we leave a tipp and how much. not to say that we fool. when our server gave us the credit card machine for payment, the machine asked if we wanted to leave a tipp. our server did not skip this request and there is no possibility that they would not know that the bill has been added a congratulate. if we had not been careful, we would have added another gratulation. it is therefore and the fact that this place is by no means cheap, we will not be back.

The team at Acme really do know how to set a cool vibe, and equally have great food and drinks to match. You can feel that the team is close knit, and the genuinely want you to enjoy the night. This is a go to...when we have guests in town who we want to show the quality of food which is right on our doorstep. Keep up the food work Mitch and the team.

Dinner booked for 8:30. Seated 9:15. Waited outside for 30 minutes and 15 minutes downstairs for some reason. Seated 9:15. Served nuts and fruit. Not sure how by adding one slice of grapefruit to a dish makes it “Italian/Asian” but ok. 10:30 next dish. Forgot...3rd dish. Never received it throughout the night... was given to another table “by accident” Music blasting full volume for 3 hours straight. 8 people seated on a table that could barely fit 6. 3 plates for each dish when there was 8 people. Who shares 3 dishes between 4 couples? Where is the 4th plate...?Restaurant and “bar”. Beers served in cans. Bill arrives. Slapped with a 10% surcharge for dining with 6+ people. Worst restaurant I have been to in years.

We turned up on a Friday night without a booking. The restaurant was starting to get busy. The friendly staff offered us the only remaining table, which was a bar/bench seat in front of the kitchen. The food was excellent. The food is Italian fusion....Slightly quirky. Very tasty. Slick and friendly staff were attentive but not overpowering. I look forward to coming again. Next time I will definitely book.

I must say this place ticks all the right boxes from the start , service is amazing , venue amazing, concept amazing, food ?? What happen, yes it’s tasty but when you serve me jatz cracker and boloney sandwich’s I could of stayed home, the...entire menu was flat lacking anything WOW ?
