We have begun to become regular faces in the royal oak. richard and vicky always make us very welcome and eating is excellent. service is also excellent and friendly. came here to dinner in the night before the mother's day, brought my elders who had never eaten here. we were all very impressed and satisfied with everything. Many thanks for an unforgettable evening.

Not since the take on Sunday lunch at the burt’s hotel in melrose (on the Scottish border) around 2011 I have eaten such an excellent Sunday meal: the eating was well cooked, made home, generous in quantity and the service was exemplary. the pub combined informal cooperation with high standards. I look forward to going back. very soon!

Excellent food, Sunday lunch was delicious! Beautiful surroundings, pleasant waitresses and lovely landlord! The chef is great too! Definitely worth a visit.
