The food was not at all what I anticipated. Before you can even get to the food, you have to stand in line and wait for everyone ahead of you to make their choices and decide on portion sizes. The shrimp should really not be included in the lineup, as they are just small salad shrimp, roughly 160 count. As someone who regularly visits seafood buffets, I'm accustomed to much larger shrimp. I'm not sure if this is considered the best option in the area, but if it is, then you clearly haven't experienced a true seafood buffet.
Date: March 31, 2023, 5 PM Booty’s Fish House is a Southern-style seafood restaurant that attracts patrons from far and wide with its all-you-can-eat buffet. The offerings include fried catfish, baby shrimp, flounder pieces, deviled crab, and various sides like fried okra, hushpuppies, coleslaw, green beans, and French fries. Our experience began with a lengthy wait outside; despite arriving just before 4 PM, we found ourselves in a line of about 30 people, all eager to get in when the doors opened at 4:30 PM. Once inside, the line progressed fairly quickly, but then we faced another long wait at the food station. After enduring two lines, we finally reached our table with our meals. As for the food at Booty’s, I found it to be average—nothing particularly noteworthy. The buffet primarily features fried options, most of which were fine, but certainly not exceptional. I was among the second group to reach the buffet, only to find several key items—like the fried baby shrimp and flounder—already running low. While I assume they were replenished eventually, there was no option to pause the ongoing line while waiting for specific dishes. Unfortunately, I missed out on those. The price for the all-you-can-eat buffet stands at $15.89 per person, and that’s where my disappointment peaked. I genuinely cannot justify paying for a selection of fried food that leaves you feeling sluggish, especially at that price point. Booty’s has a limited buffet featuring mostly fried items that some may find appealing, yet I struggle to see the value. For $16, one might expect a more diverse offerings than what was available. Booty’s has a certain charm about it (in an unconventional way), but overall, it feels overrated and overpriced for what it provides. If a heavy, fried-food experience sounds enticing to you, then this is the spot; otherwise, you may want to explore other dining options. On a side note, I opted to pay an extra $5 for fried oysters to be brought to our table. These oysters were indeed quite good—cooked perfectly and served five at a time. However, with this addition, the total came to $20.89, a price typically associated with much larger buffets with greater variety. In conclusion, I do not recommend Booty’s Fish House.
Don't let the exterior fool you. Southern fish house buffet style. Always hot always good. Self serve line. Better get there early as people come from miles away.
It is a pretty great place to eat, the main complaint is that when they are open they are packed. You'll have a line at the door for when they open bc the community loves it so much. The buffet is good and we always get an order of their fried oysters on top of it. The best part of the whole experience is the ice cream, which is homemade and I can say that it is my favorite out of any I've tried without hesitation. Usually sit with a mug of it while enjoying my meal, plenty of refills too
