Oak House Deli - Royal Oak

I was a first time customer and unfortunately this would probably be my last. The service was great and efficient. The corned beef however was not good at all. The corned beef didn’t look like or taste like corned beef (and I let several people try it and they couldn’t tell what it was). The texture was chewy and rubbery. I 0/10 do not recommend. I hope the other sandwiches are better.

Update 7/20/23:Leaving a passive-aggressive reply to my review doesn’t help anything, either. On top of their inability to fulfill an order, the owner clearly has an attitude.For the record, this was the second time in a row you had messed up my cookie order and forgotten my bacon. This wasn’t a “mistake” but a habitual failing to correctly fulfill an order. I gave you the benefit of the doubt after the first visit, but then you made the exact same mistake the second time around. I don’t believe your promises of “quite a bit of free food” when you couldn’t even give me the food I’d ordered in the first place. Disgusting.-Original review:Gave me the wrong cookies and forgot the bacon on my sandwich. How hard is it to read the order ticket? Disgusting.

Got there at 10:59 to beat the line, they already had a huge catering order told me 30 min wait all i wanted was one sub. They have great food but horrible service!

My first time here and I will definitely go back to try some other sandwiches. Someone else ordered a Ruben and it looked really good. I got the Italian and didn’t really like it. The crew was super friendly, helpful and patient with everyone. Parking was a bit tight for my big stupid truck, I didn’t hit anything though. They are carryout only and don’t have public restrooms. Lunch was just under $20 for a premium combo and tip. Counter service took less than 10 minutes to order and get out the door. They were playing some deep track oldies off of Spotify while I was there.Vegetarian options: They have vegan cakes and a whole vegan section on their menu.

This is the best sandwich shop I've ever been ro traveled all of the country if ever in the Detroit area check it out you will not be disappointed and the staff is amazing can't wait till I get to visit againVegetarian options: Plenty of vegan friendly items but I went for the corn beef
