Friendly host (cheekily forgiving of my iffy grasp of French vocab) made us feel most welcomeVery good home made soup starter and HUGE plates of delicious Moules and frites more than satisfied the four of us.Ignore the location and lack of finery, the hospitality and great grub more than make up for it.

Wanted a sandwich and a coffee. Going to Chateau de Bridoire but nearby boulangerie closed and restaurant full. L'Auberge was handy with delicious baguettes with ham and cheese and creamy cappuccinos. Very pleasant service.
