Very nice Pizza restaurant, they do not have many vegetarian options but you can ask the waiter to exchange the meat for any other vegetable without any additional surcharge. The dough is delicious and not too thin and overall we had a very pleasant evening with very good pizza.
We couldn’t get into our usual pizza place as it was fully booked, as were a lot of the restaurants. We had seen this place on a previous visit and were lucky enough to get the last table. We were given a warm welcome and a lovely table. Son and hubby had Italian ham selection for starter whilst I had melon and ham both lovely. For main, son and I had pizza and hubby had tagliatelle. We all enjoyed our food our pizzas were well loaded with toppings and the bases were lovely. Creme caramel for me and a chocolate mouse shared between hubby and son were really lovely. A great evening, and a lovely finish to our break in Rouen.
Having arrived late in Rouen, our choices seemed limited as I was staying in a hotel across the street and there was a jazz festival in the square at the top of the street. All the restaurants and pubs seemed full, so as there was space here, my wife and I thought that a pizza would be OK. We were sat down inside pretty quickly, but the two waiters were overwhelmed, not just by the covers they had to serve but also because they had to man the bar and deal with the take away orders. We eventually did have our orders taken and I ordered two regular beers. It was hot outside and the inside of the resaturant hotter still, so I was looking forward to a nice cool beer. Expecting some larger, we got two very strong malted beers, (like Leffe Blonde but much stronger) and that was it. We waited about 20 minutes before the pizza chefs asked the guys about us and they found our orders and started preparing it. On the beers, they do have a selection of beers, however, it looks like they went top of the range for us; great if that's what you want, but I just wanted something like a Heineken or Kronenbourg. When the pizza's came, they were large and well cooked, however, there was too much tinned artichoke, thick goopy cheese and ham for the pizza to taste of pizza. I know it sounds odd, but a huge quantity of toppings can kill a pizza. I've had quite a few pizzas in my time and this one wasn't one of the best.
We went here because generally vegetarian friendly seems to mean serves vegetables . The reviews were good and it meant my wife could have something different a margarita pizza. In fairness, the pizza was nice. The reason for the low rating though was that eventually (after the third time of asking and our food had been served) when the child seat arrived for our 1 year old, it was essentially a potty without straps. We also never received the bottle of wine we ordered... but the biggest problem was my food. I ordered a steak. Again, the steak itself was all right, but the chips (fries) weren 't and the luke warm tinned green beans were disgusting. Overall our experience of having to juggle a baby while wolfing down some reasonable pizza and some other food really wasn 't great. Yes, they were busy outside, but it was pretty empty inside. So, this is probably fine if you don 't deviate from the pizza or require a high chair. We could have chased the wine up, but see the picture of the food I left. Oh and that big pot in the middle of my plate is salt... yep really spoiling us with the ton of salt, thanks.
