Oceans Fish - Rotherham

My first time here so I looked at the board before ordering. Large cod and chips £9.70, Large cod £7.50, Regular chips £2.50. So I ordered LG cod and chips thinking it would be £9.70. When I was asked for £10 I queried it. The girl told me prices had gone up and hadn't been changed on the board. I paid the £10 and when home to eat my cod and chips. I found the chips soggy and cod chewy and tasteless. I rang the shop mainly to say the prices displayed should be what you get charged but they didn't want to know. Very poor customer service.

Having passed this chippy many times on my way home i thought I would give it a try. What a mistake! Tasteless, large fish that was no where near a large as ordered. It was a regular by size and left me disappointed initially. However, the disappointment really hit home when tucking into the anemic soggy chips and dull tasteless fish. I didn 't even get half way through and gave it to the dog. Poor thing even turn it 's nose up after a mouthful or two. So that was several 's chucked in the bin. Wish I 'd waited, not wasted my money and time and called at Carlton chippy. If you want good fish and chips locally go there. Large, succulent tasty fish and chips, because they are cooked in dripping. If the owner reads this, go and try some proper fish and chips. You 've so much to learn.

Placed a large order for a local care home the owner claimed in future had to order by 3.30pm for a tea time order. The owner was very rude despite bringing around a £90 order. The order was wrong with several meals being incomplete we felt uneasy about complaining after his abruptness over a large order I know as a community we are to support local businesses however we shall not be using their establishment again. There are other local chip shops that will welcome our order ie Blue Whale. So disappointed that an actual businesses can afford to throw away what could have been a potential regular order.

My go-to order from this restaurant is always the fish and chips, which I now phone in and pick up. The quality is consistently good, but what really stood out to me was the extra effort they put in to find out if any of the items we ordered contained soya. The woman who took my order went above and beyond, especially during a busy Friday evening. Thank you.

I live around the corner from a fish n chip shop but choose to go here instead, ive also tried delivery which is brilliant, friendly staff always have a chat with you even if they are busy HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
