Mitch and his staff are very hospitable, knowledgeable and generous with their time. To be honest I left with the feeling of what it must have been like for my great grandmother when she went to the butcher. I know the rules of engagement can be intimidating but if you can push that aside and you will not be disappointed. The level of personal care and attention are what is lacking in most retail experiences. I'm hooked! Thank you Mitch's Meat Fish team. Did I mention the best biscuits I have ever had? And I've had many a biscuit. I wish I could give you 10 stars!
First time shopper. Arrived a few minutes after opening and there was one in line in front of us. The staff here was incredibly helpful and the cuts of meat present at Mitch's are far superior to anything I can find locally in North Alabama. My wife and I love to travel to Alpharetta for weekend getaways and this place will be somewhere we always stop on our way home.
Fantastic meat shop. Wide range of offerings! Mitch is a true pro and his staff are very amicable. Helped out my super pregnant wife. Venison, gator, scallops, salmon, crad cakes, tons of sausage, custom cuts of steaks, pre cut as well. unique spices as well! You need to try Mitch's magic, turns Mac n cheese to 11! They have a customer for life.
The last time I was here was at the start of Covid. Prior to that, I thought that the best item was the crab cakes. Truly outstanding! Otherwise the meat was nothing you couldn 't get at Fresh market for less money. So during covid, there was a change to the limiting of customers in the store which for a small space with older people made sense. I waited about 30-45 mins. But inside there were no masks on the workers, so why the wait? After I was allowed in for a moment, the guy that was the door monitor escorted me back out saying that he made a mistake and they were not ready for me. Ok, went out and waited for 15 mins more. When I came back in the wife stood in front of the freezer and demanded to know what I wanted. I wanted to look at what was available in the ready made food! I felt like I was treated like a thief casing the freezer for gold ice cubes! I had been in the store several times before the start of the pandemic and was shocked at how I was treated on this time. I told my husband that I would never return. He loved the crab cakes so much that he went back with my daughter and they waited an hour before he finally left. We have not been back since then. I am disappointed to see that from the comments the business model has not changed in years and rather than them taking introspection, there is constant fighting with critics some. Maybe they have enough customers to ignore their old and potential clients? But to quote Walt Disney, It is easier to keep a good customers than to find new ones.
Wow… very rude.My first time walking into the store I was literally escorted out by the lady with her hand on my shoulder guiding me back outside because I missed an elaborate sign on the door. You’d think it would have been… “hey, first time here? yeah let me explain how we operate” all in a friendly manner.Too bad. We just moved to the area and had high hopes.
