Contribuiți la feedbackI stayed at this hotel while visiting family a couple of weeks ago. After reading good reviews online, we decided to book a room. We drove from London to Ross-on-Wye, so we had a car. The hotel's parking lot is a bit tight, but we managed to find a spot. Check-in was smooth, but it was a bit inconvenient that there was no elevator, so we had to carry our luggage up by hand. The rooms were adequate, but nothing special. The TV was quite small, making it difficult to watch from the bed. The bed itself was also not very comfortable, a bit hard. The restaurant in the hotel was not the best either. We ordered steaks, but they were not cooked to our liking and the meat was chewy. I would recommend this place for its convenience, but don't expect a luxurious 5-star stay. It has all the necessary amenities, but nothing extraordinary.
While on our way to Wales from the Cotswolds, we made a convenient stop at The Royal and were delighted with our choice. This charming old hotel boasts stunning views of an ancient castle and the Wye River below. The outdoor patios offer plenty of seating to take in the scenery. The hotel features a bar and restaurant, though please note there is no elevator. However, the staff is happy to assist with luggage. The rooms were spacious, clean, and elegantly furnished, with a modern and tidy bathroom. Our stay was reasonably priced and included a delicious breakfast. The food was plentiful and flavorful. Ample parking is available nearby. We highly recommend The Royal for a pleasant stay.
