Rice is 2.50 per person, are u kidding me?? Ordered 2 dishes with rice was 50 bucks on a Monday night. Yeah I don’t like overpaying for subpar food, can u tell?Distinct unpleasant smell in the air. Stay away, everybody else is doing it.
We were here on CNY, and came one hour before they closed, but they didn't shoe us away, and kept coming around, being very attentive, but not rushing us. Thank you!Food was really good, and decently priced.
I was looking for specifically for authentic corn soup and glass noodles (which are very hard to find these days). This place had both, and both were great! Good prices, big portions, and nice staff.
Insanely cheap, delicious regional Northern Chinese food! I came here with someone who's family is from this region so they ordered everything that was very nostalgic for them. So to be honest, I would skip getting things that you can get everywhere else, like walnut shrimp or kung pao chicken, you know? Plenty of parking is available in the plaza and the interior has a very old school Asian restaurant vibe. Service was pretty good for an Asian place (iykyk). We got the: 1) BBQ Lamb Skewer (3 pieces): -Comes with a generous amount of cumin to add some spice to the already tender and flavorful lamb meat. -Think of the lamb skewers you can get at any night market festival and this is what you have. Hits the spot if you're craving just a little bit of lamb instead of a whole dish. 2) Northern Style Sausage: -You get an INSANE amount of sliced sausage. Def enough to take home and eat with some rice or with some bread. -It's NOT the sweet style sausage that you usually get from a Taiwanese, Cantonese, Vietnamese, or Filipino place. -There's a very slight smoky flavor to it with a bit more meaty/gaminess in comparison to American hot dogs. -Very unique and interesting and I kept munching on this throughout the meal. 3) Preserved Cabbage with Pork Casserole: -It says it's a casserole but to be honest, it's more of a huge stew ! -Way too much for 2 people for sure and it came with lots and lots of preserved cabbage with a generous amount of sliced pork (with bits of fat on it too). -You will get lots of cabbage with each ladle-ful of the casserole for sure. The cabbage is shredded, soft, and easy to eat. -Definitely has a sour taste to it, but it gets a bit mellowed out by the meatiness of the pork. 4) Stir Fried 3 Delights: -This is a veggie dish. -I was told that these 3 delights are representative of the only vegetables that can be grown in the area. -This dish is just stir fried bell pepper, eggplant, and potatoes with some sweet, slightly savory brown sauce (def can taste oyster sauce in it). -Despite this it was very tasty and quite easy to eat, since I'm not a huge fan of eggplant in general. -Bell peppers still had a slight crunch to it, eggplants weren't too mush, and the real MVP was the potatoes (can never go wrong with fried bite sized potato wedges). 5) Green Leek Turnover Pocket: -Just an FYI, it's SUPER oily, so pat it down with a napkin. Like it leaked oil all over the plate. Not gross, but just a bit surprising. -The green leek is diced into super small squares and there's scrambled egg in it too. Think of an empanada. Good stuff. It was probably around $40 for all this with a massive amount of food to go. Super cheap and tasty. Def recommend it if you want to try some northern Chinese cuisine. FYI, even though we put the casserole in a container, in a bag, in the trunk, the car ended up smelling like preserved sour cabbage for a couple days after (nothing spilled lol).
It was pretty empty when we went to this Northern Chinese restaurant and our party of 9 ordered 9 dishes to share. Most of the dishes were spicy, but kinda bland. I remember liking 2 of the dishes: chicken with mushroom and another dish with liver. The service was non-attentive, but this restaurant was pretty cheap during lunch. 3 stars!! Northern Chinese Restaurant is almost yummylicious!
