Ami Japanese - Roseburg

Ordered to go twice this year as we passed through the town. 4 stars for the big roll portion. The Terriyaki is different to most of others as it more of onion sauce but it’s not bad. Friendly staff.

I've been going to Ami for about a dozen years and it's always been consistently great food and service. The family who runs it are very personable and friendly, and the waitress they have now is prompt and knowledgeable. The fish tastes fresh, the the rolls are humongous, and the prices are reasonable. If you like very traditional sushi, don't bother. If you're up for something fun and unique, go here. If you LOVE delicious Korean bbq, definitely make the stop!

I've had PLENTY of sushi throughout my lifetime and unfortunately this was my WORST experience. This place had great reviews so I decided to give it a try, but I made a big mistake! Their rolls are extremely big and very carelessly put together. The rice wasn't sticky and the ingredients inside were disgusting. I got the Spider and Shrimp Tempura rolls. The crab was brown and didn't taste fresh and the shrimp roll only had fried TAILS in it. No shrimp at all! These rolls were NOT CHEAP! Also got the Korean spicy BBQ, which was very yummy and tender but for 20 the portion was for a child not an adult. The ONLY reason I gave it 2 stars was because the staff is very friendly, the place was clean and the sake was good. Other than that, I will never give this place my business again.

This is undoubtedly the best sushi in Roseburg. The sushi rolls are generously sized, and the fish consistently tastes fresh. My wife and I have been coming here for three years and have never been let down. In addition to sushi, the Korean BBQ on the menu is also excellent. It's a family-run restaurant, and the staff is always friendly and welcoming, even when they’re busy preparing the rolls right in front of you.
