Castello Di Roncade

Probably one of the most superb wedding venues I have been to. This was a perfect wedding, the venue itself is just exquisite, a courtyard of cedar trees and magnolia grandiflora, surrounded by pomegranate trees growing against the castle walls. Food in traditional Italian style from the region, staff who could not have been more helpful. I recommend this highly.

If you visit the wonderful little town of Roncade, the castle and the real Baron is something not to miss. You can even stay in this 12th century castle too. The wine tasting offered its great with many great wines but the rose prosecco is super fine. Many times the Baron has greeted us and had a great lunch ready to eat. You must visit Castillo Di Roncade which is only 12 miles from Venice and 10 min from the train station which will take you there with free parking also

Roncade is very well located for visiting the various cities, towns, villas and countryside in the Venice hinterland. Roncade has a number of restaurants and is a quiet town. We stayed in an enormous room in the corner of the castle. The room was ccomfortable but very quirky with settees and tables to fill the space. The castle walls enclose a formal garden with four huge heritage trees, a wine cellar (where we were made welcome for a tipple) and the grand home of the owner. It is about 200 metres from Roncade township, easy walking. Parking is no problem in the castle. We were made very welcome, and were offerred suggestions for visiting the district and for dining. Stayed three nights.

Wine tasting Tours 4x per day on weekdays (can not remember all times, but at the latest 5pm): includes sightseeing of the grounds, a vineyard and wine cellar. We just turned around, €10, highly recommended!
