Stone City Saloon - Romeoville

I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant; it wasn't too crowded, which was nice. They have pool tables, and it looked like they were setting up a league around 7 PM. The service was excellent—very attentive, and our server checked on us several times. Unfortunately, the food was a letdown. I ordered the tandoori chicken, and the naan was dry and crunchy in the middle. The chicken itself was barely edible, filled with cartilage, making it pretty unappealing. It seemed like the ingredients, especially the chicken, weren't fresh. I think they could improve by using fresh chicken and avoiding overcooking the onions so that the cilantro doesn't end up steamed inside the sandwich. I might give this place another try to see if my experience with the food was just a one-time issue. We also ordered the Bavarian pretzel, and while the cheese sauce was flavorful, it was so thin that it dripped everywhere, making it a bit messy to eat.

The food is as cheap as it gets. The staff seems overwhelmed given their pay and the demands placed on them. They tend to over-serve customers as soon as they walk in. The atmosphere feels like a 2005 high-school DJ party, unless someone else is controlling the jukebox. There are better options out there, and I would recommend supporting other establishments unless the owner decides to improve and expand their vision.

I’ve visited this restaurant for dates, girls' nights, and even client meetings, and it never fails to impress. I really enjoy the pool tables. The drinks are consistently excellent, and the service is top-notch. The bouncer did a fantastic job of swiftly handling any obnoxious customers.

Walked in and ordered 2 beers which took about 10 minutes to receive feom the bar. I decided to shoot pool. While I was shooting pool, I was ignored for the 2 plus hours. Not one waitress asked if I needed anything. One waitress came up and grabbed the empty beer bottle off of the table that was purchased from the bar earlier and walked away. Then after 6 games of pool. I walked up to the bar and waited for 10 minutes and nobody asked if I needed anything. At that point, I just got up and walked out. If you enjoy service when you go out this isn't the place for you.

A dozen or so folks on our planning committee meeting on Sunday around noon. The Director kept us all happy with plate after plate of assorted appetizers and pop. (Each person that had alcohol handled their own tab). What a great time and place to actually get work done and also enjoy each others company. Warm and comfortable. Terrific service (as few folks are at a bar at noon on Sunday) A must to pop in again for an evening!
