Dicastro's Brick Oven - Rome

Ordered the eggplant parm. Flavorless, watery sauce and a not-so-winning combination of soggy eggplant and breading. Utterly inedible mush. The waitress was personable and attentive at the outset. Didn 't bother to ask if the food was okay but did comp the portion once she was told. I give her credit for that.

My son's dish of fettuccine with sauce and one meatball was full of Bones and cartilage. I'm not talking small bones one was the size a small rock. Our server said there was nothing she could do about it and they wouldn't take it off our bill. That will be the last time we go there PS they shouldn't have servers come around reach in front of you and take your plates away either. Absolutely awful. Got pasta with house sauce and had numerous bones (one as big as a quarter) and pieces of cartilage (one as long and thick as a sewing needle) that nearly broke my tooth. Our server took some of these foreign objects from us and brought them to the kitchen to identify them by the way or I would post pictures. Was very respectful and made our waitress aware and kindly requested it be removed from our bill as the meal was inedible. She said “there’s no manager here so there’s nothing I can do. And I spoke to the other girls and we don’t do anything about things like that.” You don’t do anything about food that is so unappetizing (and dangerous) I couldn’t eat more than a few bites? Never in my life have I experienced such terrible customer service. It compliments the terrible food. And our check was over $100 for four people. There are MUCH better area restaurants where you’ll spend less for better food and better service, where you won’t have to worry about breaking your teeth or choking on bones. Avoid at all costs. So the food was good when it came out. We had a reservation for 6pm and just got our food at 7:35pm. It also didn't all come out together. The service was bad. I'm thinking we might not go here again.

Very warm and friendly environment we loved our visit.
