Contribuiți la feedbackAlthough they are not in Centro Storico this little restaurant is well worth the travel. I highly recommend their Fritto Misto. Fantastic!
It 's by no means classy or gourmet, but if you want a place that 's working class, honest, and full of fast talking, friendly folks, this is a great spot. It 's downstairs and feels like you 're in their living room I arrived late and a little drunk, and almost immediately we started talking junk to each other Angelo to his staff, his staff to each other, and me, the ignorant American I am, right in the middle of it. I couldn 't decide what to order as the menu is eclectic very traditional, unglamorous, old school Roman stuff, but also Egyptian items as well and they just started putting stuff on my table as I guzzled more cheap wine. Ox tail, wood fired pizza, chicory, prosciutto, falafel, fried vegetables, etc. That 's my ideal way of eating: blind, eclectic, with everyone in the restaurant talking to one another. Notably at the end of the meal, when I was half dead, it turned out their credit card machine was broken, so Angelo was just like, eh, pay me whatever amount (might 've been like E20) tomorrow. I always love that about Italy, where in the US they wouldn 't let you leave without paying, here there 's a bit of mutual trust. When I came back the next night everyone greeted me warmly and they treated me to an amaro for the effort.
I found the Putpourri one night almost twenty years ago. It was and still be one of the best restaurant in the neighborhood. The owner, Angelo, is a great host, always kind and nice. The food is very good. Pasta, meat, fish and pizza are all great. Highly recommended!!
Lovely owners, wonderful pizza and huge portions! Loved every moment and would definitely go back again
The restaurant was very noisy (children and families speaking and crying out loud as guests): we were really not feeling good having dinner.
