Mama's Pizzeria - Roma

We happened to be staying in Fadene during New Years without a car and researched nearby restaurants. We found one that was one bus stop away near a hotel, but it was closed. The very kind lady at reception checked to see if Mama’s was opened and got us a taxi! What a find!!!! The restaurant is small and nicely appointed. You are greeted upon arrival by staff and owner! The menu is very nice.. with a bit more flair than standard italian (tourist) fare. You can tell it is a “local” establishment. There were three in our party. We had had a large lunch, so we weren’t going for another big meal. We had water and a bottle of red wine with fresh warm bread with oil and balsamic vinegar. I ordered the pizza diavolo love the thin crust with the spiciness all the way through the spicy salami was under the cheese which made for easier cutting! My husband got the steak and potatoes and our friend got a salad greek with carrots, corn, avocado and greek yoghurt. We got to meet Lara, the owner! It was so lovely chatting with her. So glad we didn’t go back into the busy center for dinner.

This place is really nice and the staff is just amazing kind and patient, we felt really welcomed here : Food is also excelent (we had pizza, sea bass and tiramisu and all of this was very tasty and nicely presented . This restaurant is definitely worth visiting, I can only recommend :

My friends and I are studying abroad here in Rome, and didnt want to miss out on our Thanksgiving traditional meal. The owner was extremely welcoming and immediately made us feel like we were enjoying the holidays with one big happy family. The food, the drinks, the dessert was all delicious and we all were licking our plates. Highly recommend for anyone in Rome who doesn’t want to miss out on the turkey and festivities. We can’t wait to go back for some pizza and italian traditional food. Thank you, Mamas!!

We had a delicious pizza in a very cozy atmosphere! They were very flexible in changing pizza biancha in pizza rossa. We had simple kinds with bufala, pomodori and basil, another with ruccola. Both werr fantastic and thin as we love them! We will come again!
