L'angolo Romano

L’Angolo Romano is a cozy local family ran restaurant where you can enjoy a variety of traditional Italian food and drinks. My girlfriend and I went there while visiting Rome. For a total of 30 euros, we ate so much we had a hard time walking back to our airbnb (including beer and wine). We met one of the owner’s family member with whom we had the chance to exchange about our respective countries’ culture, which was a lot of fun. He even showed us how to make one of the dishes we ate, Rigatoni all'amatriciana, but I cannot share the recipe, it’s a family secret. If you’re visiting Rome, this place is well worth the detour.

This family run business was around the corner from our accomodation. Initially we went for convenience, but we went back multiple times afterward because of the food and service, including their generous hospitality. The family went above and beyond to show us the local culture, wine and cuisine, and we feel like we visited their home. Although we can't speak Italian, we didn't feel disadvantaged in any way, as all the staff went out of their way to explain local dishes and even transport options to get to the airport. We will certainly be going back next time we visit, regardless of where we stay in Rome.
