Creperie La Gavotte - Rohan

My husband and I are at the end of our two weeks in Brittany and have eaten crepes and galettes all over. This restaurant had the most choices for savory crepes as well as ones for my vegetarian husband. And I was able to get a salad for a change with some delicious scallops on the top. The dessert crapes were fantastic. I had the apple with caramel crepe and it was the best I've had anywhere. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was very pleasant – on a cold rainy night it felt very warm and had a nice ambience. Highly recommended!

Having cycled our 50 miles to Rohan and needing supper this was the only option on a Sunday night.The restaurant was busy and the option was either crepe or gallette. My cheese and ham choice was perfectly fine but we'd had better in other restaurants on our way up the coastline.The staff were friendly and made us welcome but I wouldn't rush back.

We had limited choices as some places were not open. The atmosphere is nice, service was good and we had a nice time. My principal dissatisfaction was with my steak: although in theory the more tender (and expensive) pave cut, it was really tough. My companions were happier with their meals but we agreed that compared to other meals we shared over two weeks in Brittany, this was overpriced for what it delivered.

Unfortunately it was a stifling hot evening and sitting outside was uncomfortable. However, food was good (chose savoury crepes, but there is other choices on the menu). Happy to go again.

There are creperies by the thousand in Brittany but they are definitely not all the same. This place has a nice atmosphere with it's large high ceilinged timber roofed dining area. La Gavotte is family run and you can see the chef making the galettes as you dine. Menu is fairly short but to my mind the better for it as each one is a favourite. some interesting and different fillings and as everything is freshly made on the spot the flavours are that much more satisfying. Friendly pleasant spot with nice views over the Nantes a brest canal and local park.
