Contribuiți la feedbackIt's been a long time since I last visited this restaurant. I believe it underwent renovation after the pandemic. So, from the outside, it still looks the same, but inside, it's bright, clean, and upscale. When we went, it happened to be Mother's Day, and it was packed! Even at lunchtime until 2 p.m., the entrance was filled with people waiting in line. The service was very warm. The waitstaff was very attentive and caring, constantly checking on us and promptly replenishing our food. There was a wide variety of dim sum options, and you could also order regular dishes.Overall, the dim sum we tried was all pretty good, no disappointments: durian pastry, steamed shrimp dumplings, steamed spare ribs with rice flour, tofu stuffed with shrimp, stir-fried beef noodles, steamed rice noodle rolls with tofu skin, almond balls, and fried shrimp dumplings.Durian roll: It had a hint of durian's unique flavor, but the pastry was crispy on the outside and soft inside, very nice.Steamed shrimp dumplings: They tasted good, with the shrimp meat very tender. However, all the dumpling skins were torn.Tofu stuffed with shrimp: Very tasty. The shrimp was slightly salty, but the tofu balanced the flavors nicely.Fried shrimp dumplings with taro are made by mixing shrimp meat and shredded taro, then frying them. They were crispy on the outside and tender inside, highly recommended. There are plenty of free parking spaces around the restaurant.Overall, Far East's dim sum lives up to its reputation, and I highly recommend it. Dietary restrictions: No Parking: Plenty of parking spaces surrounding the restaurant Kid-friendliness: Yes Wheelchair accessibility: Hard
Good Chinese dishes. Tasty food. Comfortable dining area. Service is acceptable but just okay.
Found out what is at the end of the rainbow. Far East’s Chinese food is top for the area. I always go for the hunan beef which comes perfectly in large portions. They also give you a a really nice bag if you do takeout..
All around excellent experience. Food, service, everything was spot on. Prices are more than many places, but the quality justifies it. Highly recommended.
On my second try, I got in for dim sum for 1 after a 40-minute wait. My sense is that you're looking at a wait unless you're at the door when they open. I ended up being sat at a high top table near the bar and close to the door, which meant a blast of less than pleasant too cool air throughout my meal as groups came in and out. Given how long this establishment has been around, you would think they could do a redesign of the front entrance to eliminate the smaller front tables, and bar patrons are experiencing the outdoors without dining outside. The dim sum didn't have the variety I expected. The same carts came through twice, and everything tasted the same. If this is the only dim sum option in Montgomery County, I guess that explains the crowds, but I don't see the food bring a great draw. Granted, I was dining alone, and part of dim sum is the collective nature, but I have had wonderful dim sum experiences in other places that I would recommend. Far East, not so much.
