Mama Thai Express - Rocklin

I lived in Thailand for 2 years and am a great fan of very authentic Thai dishes. Since the move to Granite Bay 14 years ago, I had decided to eat in Thai Basil. Last week I tried Mama Thai Express for lunch just because I was in the area. I was blown away! You do a really great job. Everything was fresh (the most important part of authenticity), well seasoned and tasteful. I'm excited to go back and try more of their dishes. Paul is the owner and is a really nice personable guy who is actually a bit rare for a Thai restaurant owner. That was also a big plus. It is nice to have a favorite restaurant where the food is great, but the owner knows you, recognizes you when you come, and will have a friendly conversation with you. It is nice to support a local entrepreneur. This is a Strip-Mall location and you do not go there for the ambience; You go there for the big food. I recommend Mama Thai Express! Try it.

This place is the best. Paul, the owner, is a very friendly guy and knows how to take care of his guests. It is always service with a smile here. The food is also great. The mother Thai frits is delicious, I get it medium and it is just right for me. The jungles (I hope I remember the right name) are also great. One of the things I really like in this place is that they can make any dish to your taste, so if you are a vegetarian or your foods anywhere from mild to hot, no worries, they have covered you. I definitely recommend that you try and see yourself at least once.

This place opened, and it's great. It offers Thai food 'Panda Express' style with ready to go food when you're in a hurry. But they can also make you any Thai court you would find in a Dine-in restaurant. I like her spicy chicken egg and her red curry. The place was really clean and the workers were also very pleasant.

I personally love this place. Good food, good service, good food. I try to get into a week or so, and I always have the same Pad-Kee-Mao (Drunken Noodles). Recently the seafood melody, as recommended by David, the cook. It was amazing. Try to order the pad-kee-mao with beef and change the noodles to grow my noodles instead of the large rice noodles. Excellent tasty food. I moved from Dallas and was very disappointed with some of the Thai restaurants here. This one restored my faith that there are good Asian restaurants close by! We got the Thai Meal Pad thai and Pad Kra Prow [Basic Garlic Curry soooo good] and the Tom Kha Soup coconut soup again wow . I definitely plan on going back!
