Hoffman house salad bar had a reputation in the city, when we chose to eat here it was often because of the soup and salad bar. It was a unique delicious salad bar with a ton of great cold recipes that were amazing. Now it's just mediocre bar food and over priced prime rib. I understand COVID and supply chain caused great increases for a while. Hoffman house seems to be demonstrating greed, specifically with the prime rib. $36 and $48 for queen/king is out of control. There are several places near by where you can get equal or better tasting prime rib and the price is $10 cheaper for both the queen/king. I am not saying I will never eat here again but the chicken Parmesan dinner (that is not served with pasta for some reason) and the Reuben I had were both mediocre at best, the Reuben was missing something, there wasn't much flavor at all. The chicken Parmesan not coming with pasta is strange but on top of that they put about a tablespoon of pasta sauce on top of a fried chicken patty ....the sauce was bland and the chicken very dry...... we've been going here for years. I may try again someday but not 100% sure Food: 2 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3
This bang bang shrimp was really good but the cheesesteak was falling apart by the time they brought it out. Also the waitress seemed to have everyone on the floor. Definitely understaffed. Price per person: $100+ Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes: Side House Salad, Golden Fried Shrimp
The Hoffman House was a great family restaurant. Now it’s just another typical sports bar with the same bar food; nachos, wings, burgers, etc that you can get anywhere. Hostess gave off the impression we were intruding on her time. Sat at the table for five minutes then left. What a disappointment. Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
Loud music in a sports bar makes ot hard to watch and talk about the games on. Price per person: $30–50 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3 Recommended dishes: Fried Cheese Curds
