A magic garden for a delicious menu! The food was wonderful and the wine delicious! No wine menu but instead we were taken to the cellar where we could choose our bottle. We were advised on a Barbera which was wanderful and frankly inexpensive! Apero was offered and the whole bill for a gourmet meal and wine was under €100! We wish we could go back there every week!
It is 2 years since we last came to Trattoria Bologna. It certainly did not disappoint. Eating at this family restaurant is a great experience from ringing the doorbell to gain entrance, the son is the chef and it is great theatre being able to see the mother preparing the pasta. The pasta dishes are sublime. The waitresses are charming and helpful and were very patient with my wife who is learning Italian to speak to them in Italian and were very willing to help. It was a marvelous lunch with excellent wines, finished of with their sublime home made limoncello. We were able to wander into into their garden which is charming, it must be delightful to have lunch in the garden on warmer days. For such a high class restaurant the prices are reasonable for the quality. Will definitely return.
The current owners represent the third generation in this proud family that runs the bed Breakfast and restaurant. Located at the entrance of Rocchetta Tanaro, in the Asti area, this remodeled farm home offers a warm and welcoming ambiance. The wait staff, part of the family, offers friendly, helpful and efficient service. Great care is taken in the selection of local ingredients and the home made pasta is combined with the best the countryside has to offer. The best choice is to follow the suggestions of the chef. The agnolotti were delicious, as was the veal shank. The beef tartar was very tasty, but the sword fish was a bit dry. The house wines were excellent, as we confirmed visiting their (Braida) winery later in the day.
