Having eaten at a lot of buffets, I was expecting a much larger spread than what was offered, but there was an international station which consisted entirely of Asian cuisine and a grill where you could fashion your own plate of stir fry from limited choices. Tried the garlic sauce and I was tasting garlic for the rest of the evening despite having other things afterward. The salad bar was also limited, but honestly, it was the best part of the meal. The main food line had fried pork chops with a very savory, salty seasoning that was overwhelming. There was also a baked fish that was underseasoned, a beef option that didn 't know if it wanted to be prime rib or roast beef, pasta with meatballs, and fried chicken along with an assortment of country vegetables. All were acceptable, but none stood out as stellar cuisine. I was hoping the dessert options would be good, and there was a variety including a black forest cake, chocolate pudding, bread pudding, two cobblers, and sugar covered donut holes. As I was initially walking around the buffet prior to getting food, the donut holes caught my attention, so I got a couple with a little bit of strawberry cobbler, a small serving of bread pudding, and a small caramel cinnamon roll. The caramel roll was flavorless. The bread pudding was interesting because the pudding itself was warmish, but the icing on top was cool making an interesting play on the palate. The strawberry cobbler was actually quite good. The donut holes, however, were crunchy. Not soft and chewy. They crunched because they had been out too long with too much heat. I tried some coffee to help complement the flavor, but it was so strong it would peel paint off walls. I will say that the servers were working hard through the evening refilling beverages, removing plates, and turning tables. My waiter was fantastic and I enjoyed interacting with him during the meal. In short, if you want an acceptable overpriced meal with a good salad, mediocre food, and crunchy donut holes for dessert all for $24.99 per person, this is the buffet for you. If you 're looking for a traditional, upscale casino buffet more aligned with what you would expect from casinos, try a different one someplace else.
Poor service. Cold food. Not replenishing buffet despite still being completely packed with people and having 2 hours left till closing.
I should have known something was wrong when there was just a few people gathered in this restaurant. I came here for their breakfast buffet. So this review is for their breakfast which I had two times in the past month. However, I do not know about their lunch or dinner buffets which might be better. Service: I walk in and sit down and see 3 waitresses standing and talking. They just look at me and I'm hoping one will come over and take my drink order so I can get up and go to the buffet islands and start deciding what I want to serve myself. Anyway, after them starring at me for about 2 or 3 minutes, one comes over and takes my order for orange juice and coffee. As soon as I sit down, one of them should come over and and take my drink order as I don't want to choose buffet items then sit down with no drink. Anyway, I was disappointed in their buffet. Their bacon was like eating rubber. Their sausages had some sort of plastic wrapped around them that made them hard to eat. Their French toast strips were cold and hard. All 3 of these items were not tender enough to eat. Their pancakes were cold and half way burnt. Now their scrambled eggs were pretty good. There was a cook to the right that would cook your eggs fresh on the spot. So, on my second visit I ordered two sunny side up eggs and they were good. Their biscuits were cold too and when you try to cut them with a knife they would just crumble. I wanted to just put some butter in them and maybe some jelly. One tip I can give is that they do have specials for seniors over 50 on Wednesdays. In summary, I think most of these foods on the breakfast buffet made me regret it later. I will not be coming back even though it was free, I'd rather pay for a good breakfast. I would like to know what others think of their breakfast buffet.
This including some of the other casino buffets around tunica have great buffets. This one is one of my favorites because the food is a bit better than most of them. There is a variety of food such as crab legs, steak, great dessert, and the southern food. I no longer eat the fatty fried foods as well as other foods that are high in sugar and fat, but when I used to eat it I remember it being up to par. I only go for their crab legs and honestly you get your moneys worth if that and steak is all you are eating. Only negative I have which is the reason I gave it a 4-star and not 5 is that the price for the seafood buffet is a little steep. Horseshoe casino's buffet has decreased it's prices down to $20 for seafood night so I think they should compete and do the same. Paying $28 is a bit steep excluding the gas you burn driving out there from Bartlett. I think $20 would bring in more crowd. We dont gamble so obviously we cant get comps and have to pay out of pocket. The only other negative is that Ive noticed sometimes they will not stay consistent w/ the same menu in the buffet. For example, one time they had some awesome cajun shrimps on a stick and salmon which was not available the last 2 times we went back. Not sure if that was just something special they put out there or not. I wish they would add that back. This is not a negative but beware that the lines can get very very long depending on what time you arrive. We usually get there around 4:30/5pm. They usually put out a lot of crabs constantly so you just have to beat the traffic. I've never had problems getting crabs but when you first get seated they may be emptied out for a few minutes. The final thing I hate is that all the cigarette smoke everywhere but it's a casino so what do you expect.
I have been to this buffet many times and every experience has been wonderful except for this one. It is really a shame. We came from Nashville to enjoy the casino and have crab legs. Well every single time my family and I went to get crab legs, it took about 30 min to get through the line. Every casino offers crab legs on sat night and my family and I will take our business else where.
