Cafe L'Innocent - Rivière-du-Loup

The food was delicious and tasted incredibly fresh. We went there as my son has celiac disease and based on other reviews felt it would be a good option. We were not disappointed! He ordered the pulled pork poutine and loved it. I had the warm falafel salad which was delicious as well. The menu clearly labelled all gluten free as well as vegetarian and vegan options and there was a good variety. There is a patio both in the front and the back which was nice. The inside looked nice as well.

This restaurant is a few steps away from the many others on that street. It has very pleasant outdoor seating surrender by luxurious flower boxes.The staff is very pleasant. I had a vegetarian crepe and my husband had a poutine marchez.The crepe was very thin and I think made with buckwheat. It was filled with delicious vegetable and a wonderful curry kind of sauce.i enjoyed it very much.It was served with a fresh mesclun salad and delicious fries. We ordered extra fries. And were we ever glad we did. They were sooooo good. My husband's dish was also delicious the poutine was not the usual one. It was served with marchez sausages beautiful soft cheese curds and an unusualgravy that was so well suited to the dish. The portions are very generous.As mentioned before they have a good choice of very tasty vegetarian dishes ( mine was )Very yummy altogether!

We had the chance to meet the owner, he is a kind and passionate person! The food is excellent, went for supper and breakfast, both were great!

Chaotic and a mish-mash of so many different cultures, both in its design and food, L' Innocent is not your typical restaurant, but that is what we love about it. The atmosphere inside is warm and inviting, and also really comfortable. With some worldly music playing in the background, we enjoyed our meal. My son had a huge bowl of miso soup, that looked more like it could fit a large stew than a tiny bowl of miso. However, it was pretty good and quite different from any sort of traditional miso. My wife and I had some nachos with various dips as starters. Everything tasted fresh and homemade. I had the salmon and feta crepe which was very good, while my wife had the grilled vegetable tortilla and my son had the salmon pasta. It all tasted wonderfull and fresh. Overall, we really enjoyed our dining experience and would definitely return. Also, many thanks to our wonderfull and kind waitress, she really enhanced the dinner even more. Thanks l'innocent!

So nice to have a restaurant with more than 2 vegetarian options, which were really interesting (including vegetable poutine). Everyone enjoyed their meals and we all left with full bellies. Vegan options also available.
