Travelling around the South Island in a campervan and had the BEST fish and chips EVER from Bayside. Bought 4 pieces of fish .... crispy batter, fresh fish, absolutely delicious!!! The chips were were crunchy on the outside and salted perfectly. Staying an extra day in Riverton just to get more fish and chips.

I recently ordered a burger from Bayside takeaway and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. The burger was extremely bland and lacked any flavor or seasoning. It seemed as though it was cooked without any salt or other spices and even may have been a frozen beef paddie. Even the toppings were underwhelming and didn't add any extra flavor to the burger. Overall, I was very disappointed with the quality of the burger and the lack of effort put into making it. I hope that the restaurant can take this feedback constructively and improve their recipe to ensure that their customers have a better experience in the future.

Service was minimal, portions were small and food was 100% undercook 10/10 DO NOT recommend

Absolutely YUCK!. $7 worth of bland, doughy batter! Fish it's self was dry and stringy...even looked freezer burned. Do the boats at the wharf catch frozen fish? Service: Take out Meal type: Dinner Price per person: NZ$30–40
